Moving liquefied gases is big business – and getting bigger. The cryogenic tank and trailer market in the US and globally is experiencing consistent growth right now.
These assets have been transporting liquefied gases, such as oxygen, hydrogen, and LNG, since the 1950s and the space continues to evolve as the market becomes more demanding. Historically, the marketplace was dominated by the industrial gas majors, but the landscape has shifted, and many smaller companies are now in the mix and innovating.
For both the majors and those smaller businesses, it’s important to remain competitive, and for many manufacturers that requires them to have their own niche. Manufacturing tanks is expensive – we’re talking hundreds of thousands of dollars for many individual assets – so it’s vital that the product meets customer expectations.
