The Sustainable Skies World Summit 2024 was held at Farnborough International Airport recently, uniting many of the aviation industry’s leading players to take stock of progress towards decarbonisation.

It’s undeniable that the industry has a long way to go, and whilst the past year has seen positive progress on areas such as a UK Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) mandate, and the development of prototype hydrogen-powered engines from innovators such as ZeroAvia and Rolls-Royce, there is still some way to go before the goals of ‘jet zero’ are realised.
