Located in the heart of the Pyrenean Mountain range in the southwest of France, family-owned Translog has specialised for nearly 50 years in industrial marking by dry transfer or decals.
Designer of the Tecknagas protection rings, Translog originally started out as a manufacturer of labels, specialising in industrial marking for gas manufacturers. Seeking innovative ways to protect gas cylinders against external corrosion and damage, the medical and industrial gas manufacturing sector reached out to the company in the hopes of developing a solution.
Having listened to industry concerns, Translog began to design the protection rings as a type of ‘bumper’ positioned where the cylinders rub against transport pallets. The first industrial tests of the technology were undertaken by Translog-owned Tecknagas between 2000 and 2010 and – following testing and validation of the ring’s technical properties – the company designed and developed the fitting equipment.
According to the company, its aim was to create an easy-to-install system with a high turn-over of fitting and a product so durable that it exceeds its industrial customer’s expectations.
