Family. Sustainability. Responsibility. Independence. Individually these are all words that might grace the mission statement of any successful company at some time or another. But at the Messer Group they are much more than words. Collectively they comprise the ethos embodied within the modern-yet-time-honoured halls of the group’s headquarters in Bad Soden, Germany – and it’s operations far beyond.
They are also ideals that reverberate in discussions with Stefan Messer as he recounts the company’s return to ‘independence’ in 2004 and its path of growth ever since – all achieved while striving to maintain its modesty.
For many, such a staunch ideology is perhaps not so akin to the rampant expansion plans of the progressive business of today. So can this cautious, some might say conservative, approach go hand-in-hand with hard profitability and business success?
