Valves are used all along the industrial gas and cryogenic gas supply chains – for production and transportation, for trans-fill operations into storage containers, and in end-use customer piping circuits.
There are a few categories of valve. Some isolate product flow, others control the flow of a gas or liquid, and some valves regulate pressure or relieve excess pressure.
This fourth installment in our gasworld series on valve essentials will look at pressure safety relief devices: at how they work, where they are used, and at how they should be installed.
