After announcing its breakthrough hydrogen robotic fueling station, Plug Power is not standing still with just producing stationary products, the company plans to roll out a robotic fueling solution for hydrogen-powered vehicles.
The New York-based company, which aims to use its hydrogen and fuel cell innovations to accelerate the adoption of zero emission hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles (HFCVs), recently unveiled its robotic fueling station to increase the ease and efficiency of fueling hydrogen-powered vehicles in today’s warehouse settings. Hydrogen fuel cells are a clean alternative to lead-acid batteries with heat and water as the only by-products. HFCVs offer a sustainable alternative to the lengthy charge required by battery-powered electric vehicles (BEVs). A fuel cell is an electricity-generating device using a chemical reaction combining hydrogen and oxygen to produce water and energy in the form of electricity.
“We’re designing this first, for autonomous guided vehicles in warehouses, so that there doesn’t need to be an operator present to fuel the vehicle,” Dustan Skidmore (left) told gasworld.
