Based in Calgary, Alberta, North American Helium currently controls over 3.1 million acres of helium mineral rights in North America. The helium exploration and production company was founded in 2013 by its CEO, Nicholas Snyder, on the belief that grassroots helium exploration is essential in North America.
North American Helium operates in the ‘upstream’ segment of the market, where it focuses on finding prospective properties, acquiring land and seismic, drilling exploration and development wells, and ultimately putting these fields into production.
North American Helium is unique in that it has made a substantial commitment to finding and developing new large helium fields rather than exploiting existing discoveries. So far, the company has invested $40m on land, geologic and geophysical exploration, as well as drilling and completion operations.
