New Nippon Gases President Raoul Giudici explains how firm foundations will serve as a springboard for the group into a renewables and technology-oriented future
You took up the President’s position in July. How has the first half-year been for you?
Without a doubt, it has been a wonderful ride. We are building many new projects on the solid foundation we already had. We are truly able to combine innovation with tradition, and I believe we are paving the way to reach our goals.
What aspects of Eduardo Gil’s legacy are you incorporating?
Apart from many lessons, both at an executive and personal level, I want to cherish the values that have been the pillars of this company: people excellence, safety, compliance, sustainability, customer focus, and financial results. Additionally, I take from Eduardo – who dedicated 43 years to the company – the transition he made towards our business becoming part of Nippon Sanso Holdings. I aim to strengthen our bonds with all regions in our group and make the most of global alliances.
Your stated goals are to drive innovation, proactivity and collaboration across the business, how are you doing this across different markets and geographies, with their varying ways of working and commercial needs?
The basis of my vision lies in improving our performance in terms of safety and compliance, always maintaining the highest respect for quality, and keeping our customers at the very centre of our attention. To me, the value we need to foster most is collaboration: sharing knowledge and crossing frontiers to contribute to each other’s success is working towards the bigger goals of our company.
