How long has hydrogen been a core part of Nippon Gases’ global business, and how has the market changed over time?
Hydrogen has been integral to various industries for many years. It is primarily used in the production of base chemicals like ammonia and methanol, as well as a crucial process gas in the petrochemical and refining industries.
Approximately 80% of the hydrogen used in these processes is produced on-site. For smaller applications, such as material processing or fat hardening, hydrogen is delivered to customers in tube trailers and stored in medium-pressure storage tanks. Nippon Gases has been active in this business for over 50 years.
