With an impending sense of urgency around how Net Zero can be achieved, the next two months have been earmarked as crunch time for the UK Government to make decisions that will define hydrogen’s role within the country’s future energy strategy.
These decisions, according to Rt Hon Greg Clark MP, Chair of the Science and Technology Committee, ‘must be practical, taking into account what is technically and economically achievable’ and provide industry with the clarity it desperately needs.
While the committee’s special report states that hydrogen is not a panacea, it identifies a ‘big niche’ for the clean gas within industrial clusters, across transport, and for shipping and aviation too.
