Messer Group CEO Bernd Eulitz explains how a suite of new solutions will deliver decarbonisation to customers.
You took over the role of Messer’s CEO around 15 months ago. It seems you want to position Messer as an industrial gas company, that also enables Net Zero goals. What is your approach at Messer Group’s broader decarbonisation efforts?
Messer will always be an industrial and specialty gas specialist, the world’s largest privately owned one by the way. But when I started at Messer in 2022, I was really impressed by the numerous projects that were already contributing to global decarbonisation efforts.
We apply our purpose to customer projects and our own decarbonisation efforts. In particular it is our hydrogen history, resulting in our latest venture, SympH2ony, together with Toyota Tsusho Europe where we develop mobility solutions for the complete fleet operations chain, and secondly our carbon capture experience which has been in use worldwide for decades to serve the local traditional CO2 markets.
