Two things Jens Luehring is keen to stress about Messer Americas’ entry into the US market are the entrepreneurialism and quick decision-making the new major player will bring.
The Messer Americas President and CEO (left) says the company wants to be viewed differently from the other majors, and should not be considered a like-for-like replacement for Linde from which it has acquired a large chunk of the US industrial gases industry.
Following the divestitures as part of Linde’s merger with Praxair to create Linde plc, Germany-based Messer acquired the bulk of assets in North America and began operating officially on March 1, 2019.
