The PSA (pressure swing adsorption) system is a safe, reliable and cost-effective process of producing nitrogen and oxygen locally, where the gas is required. It provides users with a flexible and cost-effective solution, where no transport is required, hence why this is such a growing space for the gas and equipment industry.
“The technology is quite important and as it can happen, if there is a shortage of different gases, the user has its own system where they can produce the required gas safely and cost-effectively,” Oxymat told gasworld. The company is a leading player in the field of PSA gas generation systems and is seeing demand increase all the time. “Losses which occur in gas vessels are also saved and can represent quite large savings,” it added, citing this efficiency and flexibility as the key factors behind the increasing uptake of units it has observed.
This growth is on a global level too, with Oxymat explaining that demand for PSA systems is a trend in progress worldwide for both oxygen and nitrogen generators. Oxymat A/S has established itself as one of the largest players globally in the PSA business, notching up more than 4,000 installations in more than 140 countries. The Denmark-based business achieved this milestone through its primary operations centre in Helsinge, Denmark, and Vadovce, Slovakia, while it also owns a further sales office in Kunshan, China and has a wide network of distributors with agents present in more than 40 countries.
