Looking to 2016, there are several key trends influencing the industry, along with the manner in which welding equipment and filler metal manufacturers respond to customer needs.
Across the automotive, heavy equipment, and tube/pipe industries, there continues to be a trend toward using thinner materials, such as aluminum or stainless steel, and/or higher-strength materials, like galvanized steel instead of traditional mild steels. These allow companies to create lighter, more corrosion resistant products without sacrificing strength.
Statistics show that use of automation could increase at a compound annual rate of over six percent during the next several years.
