Villareal has held the top position at the Illinois-based packaged gas specialist since 2001 – and digitization and supporting technologies have been on the agenda for every one of his 23 years at the helm.
“I remember giving a presentation at a gasworld conference in Dubai back in 2015 that focused on the ‘automation megatrend’. In the presentation, I went through all the reasons why automation was here to stay, and it was also about the extent to which it was poised to take off.”
