In the welding sector, much like last month’s focus on cylinder filling equipment, the quest for automation plays a vital role for many in the industry – driving a boost in profitability, an increase in order processing speed, and benefitting from safety enhancements.
But unlike the filling sector which was ‘In focus…’ last month, another regular occurrence in the welding industry is mergers and acquisitions (M&A).
Economically, welding appears to be the first stop for companies wanting to acquire a stable and profitable company. 2015 already appears to be a year where the welding company acquisition may be a regular occurrence, with a number of deals have already been finalised and reported by gasworld – Tech Air acquiring McGinnis Welding Supply and nexAir acquiring Welders Supply and Equipment are just two examples.
