Carbon dioxide (CO2) is produced for the beverage industry as a by-product, or co-product, of numerous industrial processes such as combustion, fermentation, ammonia, hydrogen production, and chemical and refinery operations.
With such varied and numerous sources, there is the risk of contamination either at the source, process, storage or distribution. These impurities must be removed before it can be classified and used as an ingredient in beverage products.
