In a sub-sector of industrial gases as broad as gas handling, it would be an impossible feat to detail where the trends are for each of the varied components – like valves, manifolds, regulators, high pressure hoses, quick release mechanisms, and more.
However, as we discovered from the In Focus… that zeroed in on the regulators industry last year, improvements in designs, longevity and increases in efficiency have boosted demand for the products – particularly in the North and South Pacific and Asian markets, where demand is higher for some companies.
The industry’s requirements are also currently undergoing change. As many sectors of the industry increase the pressure of gas delivered in applications being used, the changing of valves, hoses and regulators is also boosting these sectors; the shift from 150/200 bar to 300/400 bar, for example. By delivering 50% more gas in the same package, there are significant savings to be made in transportation and handling costs.
