Last year, several helium plants were brought online in North America, with 2024 following the same trend. But just how do such plants come together?
Calgary-based Journey Engineering is one company that’s involved. It has provided the engineering behind numerous helium plants, as well as other facilities. When it started out, the company’s founder didn’t intend to be focused on this marketplace, but now Journey has a dedicated helium team.
“Journey Engineering’s growth in the helium sector wasn’t incredibly fast initially, but over the last couple of years we’ve added several key people to the team, and that’s enabling things as we scale up,” Scott Herbst, founder and Vice-President of Journey Engineering, tells gasworld.
