New Era Helium is one of the newest players in the helium market, having been founded just this year. As part of its mission, the company has a strong vision for responsibly sourced gas, or RSG, which it sees as pivotal to the energy transition.
“Helium players are able to participate in the energy transition space: it’s just about finding where we fit,” Will Gray, CEO of New Era Helium, tells gasworld. “Helium’s role is often overlooked, but that will change.”
Specifically, Gray believes nuclear energy to be an emerging opportunity for helium companies. “Helium is needed for nuclear reactors. It’s a brilliant application. Part of the energy transition is zero-carbon energy and nuclear energy, in my opinion, is a great option.”
