From exhaust gas to raw material: intelligent technologies can reduce the emissions of carbon dioxide and give benefits to both the environment and plant operators. Industrial activities are one of the largest generators of carbon dioxide (CO2) discharged as exhaust gas and, therefore, also one of the biggest pollutants.
Although one of the main objectives of the Paris Agreement of 2015/16 is to reduce global greenhouse gas emissions, according to the International Energy Agency (IEA) emissions have increased since 2017. Yet CO2 can be recovered from industrial processes and recycled to not only reduce its emission into the atmosphere, but also improve the economies and profits of the industry – and dry ice is a good example of this practice in action.
