Building out green hydrogen projects and infrastructure to deliver a clean energy future is complex and demanding work. It leans on producers of high-specification equipment to deliver critical components – and every aspect of each new-build plant requires detailed monitoring once production gets under way.
Nico Schmäling, Senior Director Product Portfolios and New Energy Solutions at the engineering company John Crane, spoke to gasworld on the disciplines involved, and says it is useful to understand all the dimensions that go into green hydrogen.
Each project is a collaboration with many experts and technologies coming into play, and Schmäling notes how there two distinct aspects to the green hydrogen work that John Crane itself does today. Taken together, they help to shine a light on the broader picture around delivering hydrogen.
