The countdown to FABTECH 2010 (www.fabtechexpo.com) is underway as the event returns to the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, GA, November 2–4, 2010. This represents the first time in four years that the show will take place in the Southeastern corridor of the US, a region that continues to see growth and expansion in metal fabricating, manufacturing, and infrastructure development.
FABTECH 2010 is sponsored by the American Welding Society (AWS) (see related story on AWS on page 32 of this issue), as well as the Fabricators and Manufacturers Association, International; the Society of Manufacturing Engineers; the Precision Metalforming Association; and the Chemical Coaters Association International (CCAI). Industry partners for this event are the National Association of Manufacturers and the Association for Manufacturing Technology.
FABTECH is North America’s largest and longest running metal forming, fabricating, welding, and finishing event. It has brought together over a half million buyers and sellers from around the world. Two prominent industry trade shows, the FABTECH International and the AWS Welding Show, joined forces in 2005. In 2008 the METALFORM trade show came on board. All three shows in their own right have brought millions of buyers and sellers together from around the world. In 2009 the CCAI joined FABTECH & AWS to sponsor the Finishing Pavilion and Conference. The pavilion will feature exhibitors displaying a wide variety of finishing technologies, including liquid finishing, powder coating, curing, and plating. CCAI will also produce conference programming focusing on these same technologies. The addition of the Finishing Pavilion means that manufacturers can visit one show and experience all metal manufacturing processes from beginning to end.
