Gases can be liquefied. But can they also be digitalized?
Sen: Transportation provided by taxis cannot be digitalized. But that has not stopped Uber from turning the taxi sector upside down in just a few short years. Hotel rooms cannot be digitalized, but that has not stopped Airbnb from creating a fantastic marketplace for rented accommodation. Gases cannot be digitalized either, but this development will undoubtedly impact our industry. It’s just a question of time. Digitalization is all about how technology can be used to improve the customer experience and how we can use data to enable predictive decision-making. Digitalization enables sudden, disruptive changes in industries and the industrial gases business cannot be excluded. Here at Linde, we are not only engaged in future or “blue sky” thinking with regard to digitalization, but are deeply rooted in nearer term, innovative, but concrete, implementation of real-world digital solutions.
