What sets gas distributors apart is often the added value that they provide their customers. It can be helping to increase efficiency to reduce gas usage or providing turnkey solutions for seemingly complicated problems. In today’s world, being able to creatively solve problems can be the deciding factor in sustaining successful customer partnerships.
This type of successful collaboration occurred recently between one of America’s largest fabricators and erectors of structural steel and its gas distributor. A long-building problem had finally come to a head that required they do more than simply purchasing an off-the-shelf solution. The distributor consulted with their partner, Harris Products Group, to engineer a customized solution for the problem.
Over the years, as this structural steel company had grown, they had added welding stations, which also required the addition of more gas distribution equipment. In order to handle their growth, they had not made these additions with a long-term growth plan in mind, but rather had responded to their rapidly growing business with piecemeal solutions. Eventually, they realized they had a busy facility with 33 welding and cutting stations but were facing potential gas distribution quality and safety issues if they continued to move forward without a plan.
