Of all the applications for air gases in relation to the decarbonisation drive, one especially promising avenue of research has recently begun a three-year pilot in Finland.
Late last year, the Integrated Hydrogen-Argon Power Cycle (iHAPC) consortium was established, led by the University of Vaasa in Finland.
The project is pioneering an innovative approach to generating sustainable power by developing a hydrogen-argon power cycle (H-APC) that promises high levels of efficiency without carbon emissions.
Spanning from 2025 to 2027 if all goes to plan, it has a total budget of €8.55m, primarily funded by the Finnish government agency Business Finland, with additional contributions from participating companies and research organisations.
