Headquartered near Seattle, Modern Hydrogen has a vision to harness clean hydrogen technology for immediate environmental impact. The company was founded in 2015 and has received backing from influential investors such as Microsoft’s Bill Gates, US renewable energy company NextEra Energy, and utility venture National Grid Partners, to name a few.
In April, Gates visited Modern Hydrogen’s new headquarters to tour the facility and get hands-on experience with the hydrogen generation technology. Speaking on LinkedIn after his visit, he said, “With an innovative process that removes carbon from natural gas to get emissions-free hydrogen, Modern Hydrogen is decarbonizing the energy market.”
MH500 taps natural gas
Modern Hydrogen’s investors have raised $100m to advance its flagship MH500. This is a modular on-site hydrogen production technology that taps into existing natural gas infrastructure.
