Luxfer Gas Cylinders understands the growing importance of clean fuels and energies. It is one of the major reasons the company has recently invested £500,000 into our Nottingham site to expand our alternative fuel facility.
Our alternative fuels team has increased production over the past 12 months of bespoke CNG (compressed natural gas) and hydrogen-powered systems for buses and other types of commercial vehicles, so there was a clear need for a larger expanded area within our Colwick site for this specialist work.
Luxfer has extensive expertise working with a wide range of clients across different transport sectors to meet their needs. This ranges from hydrogen-powered double decker buses featuring Luxfer systems set to hit Britain’s roads this year, to the multi-million pound Energy Observer, which is fitted with a hydrogen fuel cell system, and is currently on the last stages of its six-year voyage around the world that will take in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
