Carburos Metálicos, a leading provider of industrial and medical gases in Spain, hit a major milestone this year in celebrating its 120th year in business.
Following its establishment in 1897, the company has been a frontrunner in the Spanish industrial gas industry for 12 decades now. Its story began in a factory in Berga near Barcelona, with an initial focus on the Catalonia region, but it expanded to cover the entire country in the following years. In 1995, the company became part of US gas giant Air Products & Chemicals, Inc., paving the way for stronger progression in research and development (R&D) and commercial technology fields to respond to more globalised demands.
Today, the corporation is considered to be one of the country’s leading gas companies with 12 production plants, 14 cylinder filling sites, two high-purity gas laboratories, a nationwide network of 160 distributors, and an R&D centre in Barcelona.
