After the success of last year’s gathering, when a renewed sense of clarity and positivity emerged in the semiconductor business, SEMICON West 2018 went Beyond Smart this July with an agenda devoted to electronics growth drivers in smart manufacturing, smart transportation, smart data, big data and the Internet of Things (IoT).
The flagship event for connecting the electronics manufacturing supply chain, SEMICON West 2018 was held from 10th-12th July at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, California and built on a year of record-breaking growth in the industry.
The event highlighted ‘the engines’ of the industry’s future expansion, with smart medtech, artificial intelligence (AI), and blockchain also covered under the theme of Beyond Smart, and set its sights on the growing impact of cognitive learning technologies and other industry disruptors. This was achieved across a range of programme sessions and Smart Pavilions, where smart manufacturing and smart transportation technologies were showcased via immersive, interactive, virtual experiences. Each Pavilion featured a Meet the Experts Theatre with an intimate setting for attendees to engage informally with industry thought leaders.
