The concept of a hydrogen economy continues to gather pace in its realisation, a major strand of which is hydrogen mobility. A range of technologies are required to be pioneered and developed as part of this important movement, not least the fuelling stations and associated equipment required to enable an infrastructure of hydrogen mobility.
For a smaller scale, customised solutions manufacturer like Germany-based Theisen GmbH & Co. KG, this has opened up new opportunities – and challenges – in hydrogen filling systems and racks, as well as hydrogen cooling systems.
With now 35 years of business and back then, almost 20 years of experience in building filling racks and installations for hydrogen and flammable gases, various customers contracted Theisen at the beginning of this Millennium as a partner for new hydrogen applications for a 700 bar cylinder filling station (2006), a series of hydrogen fuelling stations for research (2004) and a compressor station for liquified hydrogen (2002).
