The generally recognised rule (ISO 4126-1) states that the pressure loss in the supply line to the safety valve should not be greater than 3%. These functionally relevant requirements play a particularly important role in storage vessels for refrigerated liquefied gases.
As part of the redevelopment of its ball diverter valve 2700, Germany-based Goetze KG Armaturen aimed at using modern development methods to significantly reduce the comparatively high proportion of the pressure loss attributable to ball diverter valves in the supply line. This benefit is useful to ensure the reliable operation of the safety valves and provide a smaller dimensioning of the supply line to the safety valve.
