California: FuelCell Energy’s renewable biofuel project now operational

FuelCell Energy’s 1.4MW SureSource 1500™ biofuels fuel cell project is now operational in California, US.

Sharing the news on Thursday (1^st July), FuelCell Energy said the site, developed with the City of San Bernardino Municipal Water Department, eliminates the need for another flare in the state.

The site offers the only fuel cell generation platform approved by the California Air Resources Board (CARB) for use with on-site biofuels. 

Commenting on the news, Jason Few, President and CEO of FuelCell Energy, said, “We are excited to begin commercial operation of our platform in San Bernardino.”
